Paragon Partition Manager 2014 Free aims to make it easy to create, resize, reformat, and delete hard disk partitions, but its wizard-based processes compromise flexibility. Advanced users may need more control than this software's algorithms permit.

With Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition, you can easily resize or move partitions. This means you can change the size of a partition just by sliding or entering a new size. If you ever delete a partition by mistake, the undelete partitions feature can help you recover your lost data and volumes. You can also create new partitions or delete old ones to free up space on various storage devices like HDDs, SSDs, USBs, and memory cards.

If you find you need more space on your existing partitions, you can use the expand partitions feature to redistribute free space from unallocated areas. It's also simple to change the label or the drive letter of a partition, which helps keep your data well organized. To make sure your partitions are in good shape, the test surface feature allows you to check for and fix errors.

Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition also supports disk and partition conversions. You can convert logical partitions to primary ones, switch HFS volumes to NTFS, or change MBR disks to GPT without losing any data.

Mac and back: A built-in NTSF/HFS+ Conversion Wizard can make your Windows disks accessible to your Mac and your Mac disks accessible in Windows.
It's free: Users have comparatively few choices in freeware disk partitioning tools, so Paragon's entry is certainly welcome.

Cons

Complicated documentation: We're not sure which is more complex; the software's algorithms or the documentation explaining them.
Too little control: The software looks for the first disk to create a partition, then the next, and so on. The only available partition space it found was on our C drive (which we did not want to change) not our 320GB D drive or the 650GB external drive with 93GB of free space we wanted to partition.
Chaos potential: Inexperienced users who want to create a separate partition for their music files (for example) on their C drive might accidentally wipe the wrong partition (Paragon recommends backups; we strongly agree).

Bottom Line

Partitioning and managing disk drives requires care and attention to detail, and experienced users will probably want more flexibility and control than Paragon Partition Manager 2014 Free offers. But for basic or infrequent operations, it'll do fine.

Boring registration process that reveals nothing of value. The tools built into Windows (depending on version) are equally good. To me this looks like a sales pitch platform and nothing else. I deleted the software immediately after futile installation.

Sales response through Digital River was slow. Promised followup never happened, so I had to download the trial version. Did not work to resize partition. Tried several times, uninstalled, reinstalled and tried again. Maybe Windows 10 is the problem, but the description lists W10 as compatible. Tried on another computer, but I made the mistake of buying the new version before trying. The key was already used, so when I tried to install on another computer, activation failed.
Summary
Like some other startups, this company used to be excellent. Now I guess they're too big and interested in sales, not quality. Their e-commerce partner, Digital River, is the same substandard operation it's been for years. My last EaseUS purchase.

This program is essentially bloatware. I downloaded it to migrate from one SSD to another SSD, but all of the options were "locked." The only way to unlock these extra options is to purchase a copy of the program.

The software installer crash during disk space test when coming accros some network drive not connected anymore. Maybe Parangon didn't create the installer, but their lack of testing for a bug like that says long about their QA...

I had allotted myself only 50 GB of space for Windows 7 on my Mac OSX, but as it turns out, I use the Windows partition much more than the Apple one (I like my familiar programs) and was about to reach the limit! I couldn't repartition it on its own without having to start from scratch (and have to download everything from the external hard-drive or lose it entirely). So, after seeing some positive comments about Paragon Partition, I made sure to back-up everything first, and tried it. The program was easy to use (which is important) and allowed me to allocate whatever amount I wanted to the Bootcamp partition (which was another 100 GB). It took about a half-hour to do it, and it was done perfectly.

Pros
resized an old laptop C drive with not much fuss.
Cons
I had used Vista' disk management to shrink the D drive first, this left unallocated space at the end that could not be put into the C dive. However, I reallocated the space back to the D drive then ran partition manager and it worked fine. The program stopped at 01 seconds for a good 10 minutes! then finished just fine so let it do its job - I was working on an old 80GB laptop HDD so doing a larger HDD may take longer.
