Kapow for Windows

Kapow is a useful tool for online freelancers or individuals who work at home while still on the clock. Tracking time spent without recording your actions on screen, it is a very easy tool, but will fulfill a need for many hourly, at-home workers who would prefer not to use invasive online tracking tools.

Kapow opens with a clean, almost bare-bones interface. Create a project in the left pane, define your task at the top, and click "Start" to record time as you work. With a minimal GUI and no colors or buttons onscreen, it is very rudimentary, but this is equally a good thing because finding the Start and Stop buttons, as well as the Reporting buttons and other menus in the file menu system is relatively easy. You can add additional columns to your view to see daily or weekly hours, and can customize how the time is recorded and reported for your clients. Work sessions and tasks can also be added manually if the tool was not active or you were not at your computer.

While not a perfect solution, especially if you need proof of your efforts, Kapow provides a very basic, purely functional time-tracking tool for your PC. If you need to keep track of hours for invoices or if you are interested in tracking your own time spent on a task for internal reference, Kapow will get the job done very well without intruding on your personal space or privacy with screenshot tracking.
