  Pros

  Swat-Portal has created many mods but 1 in particular is called Crossfire it picks up where freelancer left off doubling the size of the game 100's of new ships systems you name and they arte coming out with CF 2.0 with a modern game engine sits a freelancer mod none like you have ever seen, simply awesome

  very addicting and may be too much fun for some

  Pros

  i like this product because i can relate it to my kids and my pc games addict friends, you know at my age. whenever we discuss this game, we compare it with other role playing games we used to play. the controls are simple and easy to memorize.

  Cons

  well, if possible, in the existing sophisticated space fighter ships, may you please add some more space ships and also add more combination of accessories as we equip our ships.

  in the scale of 1 to 10, i rate it as 9. i like this product because of its futuristic scenery. i have easy use of its controls and my fingers have "eyes" on the buttons. playing this game gives me a different plane of existence. even as i play for hours, i don't get tired. the only thing i dislike on this game is that, the copy of the software i am using have limited sophisticated available space ships, also when you combine turrets, i go nuts trying to figure out which is which, considering that once you buy an accessory, you sell it half the price!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Apr 2, 2009<p/>compared to other rpg, i hope it will be played on-line like other rpg soft wares. i fantasize myself as one of the freelancer characters. after i played the first edition (first release) i am dying to play the rest of the episodes.

  Pros

  Huge. Immersive. Compelling.<p>Like most of the other reviewers, I downloaded the demo, was immediately hooked. (seriously it's worse than nicotine) then went to amazon and ordered the full version.<p>I found myself playing the demo over and over until the full version arrived.<p>The graphics are beautiful, the controls simple and intuitive.<p>The mouse and keyboard interface is different than most joystick based games i've played...but in all honesty...i prefer the mouse and keyboard method.<p>I've fine tuned the settings and controls on my gamepad (painstakingly mapping each button and directional input and resetting the games controls so that i could play with the gamepad) only to find myself going right back to the mouse and keyboard.<p>Even though the gamepad works just fine, targeting with a mouse is just so much easier.

  Cons

  The storyline, while compelling is a bit short...<p>I found myself directionless and the complete lack of any further storyline NPC interaction seems like it could have been handled. <p>All of the non-storyline missions are pretty much the same.<p> 1. go here.<p> 2. kill ships.<p> 3. repeat.<p>they could have had the storyline NPCs pop up from time to time even if only to give you the standard go here, kill that missions.<p>then again, i kind of like not having to complete any more missions if i don't want to. <p>The only cons i really find with this game are that the storyline was too short...but don't let that dissuade you from checking it out...<p>I beat the mission portion of the game at least a few times over now, and i've been exploring the rest of the universe.<p>it's been a few weeks now, and i still can't stop playing.<p>sorry for the disjointed text, i'm suffering freelancer withdrawals and i have to go play again.

  Pros

  Its a good game for space RPG lovers to play. <p>there is a patch somewhere, my cousin got it, a star wars, and a couple other game ships (star wars like Mellanim Falcon)

  Pros

  A space-based singleplayer/multiplayer RPG with strategic gameplay and an awesome first-person shooter interface! I've waited two years for something like this! Best futuristic spaceflight emulator ever! Two years and I've finally saw something that is just like the game I have always dreamed about playing. Can't wait to play the retail version. XD X] Oh yes, the storyline just totally blew me away. XD

  -Do something with the scripting? <p>and <p>-More strategic hardpoint placement like in the game StarFury: Empires at War. Fighting strategically in 3D space is what I'm talking about. =D

  The single person story line is pretty good. <p>The graphics are pretty good. <p> <p>You can host your own server, the number of players depends on your PC and internet speed and connection. (PvP optional Nice!) <p> <p>Good economy system (jobs, vendors) <p>All aspects of your ship(s)can be upgraded. <p>100's of hosted servers to play on, with any where from 8 to 100 or more players on <p>a server. Sweet..If this was a MMORPG on a Microsoft hosted server I would of given this game 4.5 or 5 stars...

  Cons

  For best Internet play second PC should be used as the server 8(. <p>Recommendeded server specs: 3.0 dual processor, 2g RAM, <p>internet connection: ADSL, Cable, (T1 if your serious about it). Don't even think of hosting or playing on a 56k modem. <p> <p>No interaction with other players while docked in stations. <p>No patches, No added content. <p> <p>If this was a MMORPG, EVE, Vendetta, and Space Cowboy would be in trouble ! <p>A MMORPG Freelancer would be my Earth and Beyond replacement....
