Why are there so many whiny people whining about the voices they sound good to me. Why do people expect voices to stay the same after around 8 years it is a fact of life people move on voice actors do it to so get off your high horse and quit expecting something that was not going to happen at all. So far so good can't wait for more. |

Now he barely talked in this episode but man I miss Mitsuo Iwata already. Noriaka's voice doesn't really fit him. I wonder why so many voices were changed. I can deal with it, but not in Crowley's case. I was wondering that too..it's not like their old va's aren't available since they're in the newer animes..budget if I'd have to guess..it has been 8years and their old va's are more popular now so probably they cost more.. A shame though that the old voice actors for Bookman and Millenium Earl aren't around anymore. I'm curious about Millenium Earl's new voice. |

Wasnt that shown in the last ep of the old series? When that lv4 akuma attacked? |

So far so good can't wait for more. Most people were just pointing it out and saying they preferred the old ones or the old ones suited them more in their opinion I don't see what so wrong with that. It's just a simple observasion or a minor complaint it's not like most people said the whole thing sucked or was trash just because of that. Even if it does sound good to you it doesn't mean everyone who doesn't like the new voices are automatically whiney. |

And D.Gray-man is back. I know that a lot of people have been waiting 8 years for a continuation. Whilst I finished the first season just over 2 months ago, and had first started watching the series 2 years ago. Dat gore. I don't remember the first season being as gory as this, lol. And look how colourful this show looks compared to season 1. Didn't think they'd use the first season's OST again in Hallow. I'm gonna miss Naruto's voice for Allen Walker, though. |

Lavi new va sound a bit weird compared to kenichi but I think it's ok at least, the new animation has some vibrant colors different from the old series which I don't know if it's a bad or good thing I think is relative to the taste of who's watching... but those pointy noses are terrible seriously And I don't remember of Lavi and the bookman having telepathy habilities lol |

Watched it. First, after all those years waiting for a new adaptation of D. Gray Man, this feels nostalgic. I actually don't mind some voices (Kanda, Allen, Miranda, Cross), and other ones were really good (Lvellie, Bookman). Respecting Lenalee's voice... I miss Shizuka Ito a lot. Hanae and Sugiyama are really weird voicing Lavi and Krory respectively, however, Hanae at least tries to imitate a bit Suzumura's tone, I will give him that. The pacing was surprisingly well. They didn't skipped anything important and managed to fit all in the episode nicely. It seems that in the next episode they will already start the Phantom Thief G arc, so we wouldn't see the Noahs for a while (as it doesn't look the studio will adapt Sheryl's introduction). I also loved Allen flashback with Mana. It made me feel pity for the poor Allen as much as the manga. Curiosly, if my ears didn't failed me, Mana was voiced by Yutaka Aoyama, who is the one who voices the Earl... Poor Cross too, wasted in the first episode :( However, in the bad part, the art feels really off. Lenalee and Miranda in special looked very weird in the episode, and the colors were too bright for my liking. The fights were okay, but the characters... I hope they are doing that because they are reserving budget for the Alma Karma arc. The OP could be better, I expected something with more spoilers, but, well, it's not that bad. The ending was very good. Hope this gets better the next time. |

New animation & new changes. No matter what, I totally happy because DGM finally returns & my heart is so grateful for that. However, it has many changes that I didn't like. I feel that the seiyuu's change was good in some characters (like Link, Kanda even Allen), but not good at all in others (like Lavi or Johnny). I don't know, I think that they don't transmit the character or something like that. But, well, just came out the first chapter. I hope that TMS doesn't disappoint me & let us enjoy DGM a little more. |

Some nitpicks: Definitely not a fan of Allen's arm redesign to red, Miranda is like a complete different person and her voice, Natsuki Hanae's voice of Lavi plain sucks, I wish he could've done more of a manly voice. Others are completely fine, Lenalee has become more soft spoken but that is fine for her personality, the remaining voices are fine for me, but really love that Bookman has Jiraiya's voice. >.< Animation wise its really good too. I might have to reread the manga a bit to refresh my memory. On to the episode. Damn. Cross has died. Woo. |

For someone who wasn't watched original D.Gray Man, I tried watching this one and the old one just to compare the voice acting that everyone's been whining about. So this is coming from a neutral point of view but other than the girl forming the barrier type thingy, I prefer the new VA's to the old ones. |

It's been 8(4) years. We waited and here we are now. New D.Gray-Man episodes. Now that's something to look forward to every week. Ok, so I'm hyped af for the sequel and it's one of my favorite arcs to boot holy molly yes . First episode was good and it went by very fast. But, yes, It will take time to get used to the voices, especially Lavi's. His voice is so off. (Hanae Natsuki's voice is sweet and nice but Lavi isn't supposed to sound like that. I want Kenichi Suzumura back tbh) Allen's voice is good, but I would love it if Sanae Kobayashi was reprising her role. Her voice sounded THE best for Allen. (She's nowhere these days, I'm sad.) Lenalee's is a basic moe nyeh nyeh voice. (I want Shizuka Itou back too.) Kanda's is just ok, it suits him. Ugh, it's a matter of habit, honestly. Besides the VA differences, it seems fine. I just want more episodes, I love the series so much that I wouldn't mind another 100 of episodes. 13 episodes sound very few to me. But, generally, we'll see. |

I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and i get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but i occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get 8 hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last checkup." |

As others have mentioned, seiyuu changes are throwing me off but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Overall I'm glad the anime has retuned, although being an anime only viewer I might be a little lenient, as I've read that apparently this skipped a manga arc? Presumably the small section they glanced over for like 1 minute in the ep right? Pretty nice start and I hope it keep saying up the nice work Oh and I'm so glad to see Lenalee x Allen going strong! Manga readers is their romance canon or is it being kept at an implied level? OH and I like Lenalee's updated character design voice is a little strange though, I'll have to get used to it EDIT: omg wow look at that! #5 already? xD |

Similarly after getting used to the voices, you might even forget the previous voices though 13 episodes aren't enough for that. |

not used to crowley's or lavi's voices... the rest of the cast seems suitable for the characters. i find it ironic because lavi is my favorite character and hanae natsuki is my favorite voice actor, and yet i absolutely hate the voice he has for lavi lmao. i hope crowley's "de aru" or whatever is still in this series. pacing was alright, as a manga reader i think there will be some rearranging of scenes involved, but i guess that's expected. pointy noses bother me a bit, but it's somewhat like that in the manga too. no other complains about the art, if anything it's more accurate to the manga than the first season was. i think next episode they're going to adapt the most disturbing manga panel in the series, oh boy am i hyped as fuck. |

Glad that it's back after 8 years but the new voice actors throw me off. Maybe they will grow on me in the next few episodes... ;-; Lavi seems to have lost that hint of maturity that he had in the first season. Lenalee sounds a tad bit obnoxious with her higher voice. I hope that she retains the badass part of her at least. The visuals are really nice & also the fact that they kept the original soundtrack is also a plus! Really want to love this since it's one of my all time favorites. :\ |

After just finishing the first season, it definitely feels weird with the new voices. My biggest complaint would probably be Lenalee's voice, she sounds too timid and therefore her whole character just feels different. As for Lavi, Hanae's voice is definitely more high pitched, but in Lavi's debut episode, there were few other people who also thought that SuzuKen's voice didn't fit with Lavi. I think it'll be easy to get used to Hanae's voice as Lavi, at least he sounds almost the same when he said "fire stamp." I like Satou Takuya too, but yeah, he doesn't sound as annoyed as Sakurai did. Hi voice is probably the best fit in the new cast. Allen, hmm, he sounds a lot spunkier than Kobayashi's version, which makes him feel less endearing, imo. Not bad, but just different. Really just depends on one's preference. Also, Miranda sound so old. I mean she already sort of did in the first season, but even more so here. Best VA change has to be Johnny's though, my god did his nerdy voice annoy me in the last few episode of DGM, couldn't even cry in serious scenes because of his damn voice. ------------------------------------------------ Now as for the episode itself, I liked it. It was a good introduction, we already learned who Allen is or what he will become, as well as the relationship between the Fourteenth and Mana. I wonder why Allen would eventually have to kill someone he loves? Like will that trigger something if he does, or if he doesn't, will his life be in danger or something? Very curious. Also wondering about why Bookman was sweating, what does he know? That cliffhanger though, I gasped so loudly my sister's cat got startled. Biggest surprise was probably seeing Mana, lol. He really was a clown. OP song was aight, I think the very first DGM OP song is still the best. I'm still really excited for what's to come based on the OP and ED sequences though. The art style is different, but I like it. I haven't read the manga, but it looks like the character designs are going with how the manga's art looks in the later/current chapters. |

It was really nice watching D.Grey-Man for the first time in a long time. Sure the character voices were off, but they will grow on me eventually. Most of the character designs were good. I had a hard time recognizing Lenalee, because she looks so different. Nonetheless the episode was really good, and omg the way they left it off in the 1st episode was mean :D |

Its good but I agree to most of you, I was surprised on lenalee's voice it sounds like sa moe character Every time I hear Allen's voice all I imagine was hinata but what concerns me the most is WTF?! WHY DOES LAVI HAS A HIGH PITCHED VOICE?! Ok enough with the voice lol In the anime i finally understand the story (unlike in the manga I dont know who is who lol) My complaint is - 13 episodes!? - They skipped one of my favorite arc's TwT - Colors look pale (Especially with some of the characters) - like I said. The voicing. The positive thing is - They finally returned!!! - They pick the feels arc TwT - Liking the pace - ALLEEEEEEN! My point is Its been 8 years since the ending of D gray-man in the 2008.Finally we get to watch the series again. So lets just watch It even tho it feels wierd because of voicing, well its good to have something than nothing. Right? |

What the actual fuck did they do to Miranda? Why is whether I read the manga or not relevant, lmao? Someone's opinion isn't only valid if they've read the manga... Also, not only did I say it felt rushed (which is a completely different thing to saying it straight up is...), the fact that it's the same as the manga doesn't automatically mean it's good and not rushed at all. The manga's pacing is perfectly capable of being bad too. The entire start of the episode was rushed, unless you somehow missed that they skipped tf through the entire situation from the end of the first season and immediately went from the HQ being destroyed to suddenly having a new one. I didn't even watch the first season all that long ago and I was still finding it hard to follow with how much they just rushed past anything that actually happened prior to that ep. I can't even begin to imagine what this was like for someone that actually watched this 10 years ago and tried to get back into it now lmao, that was a horrific re-introduction to what is a very late sequel. |

I honestly didn't realize that was Lenalee until they explicitly called her Lenalee |

Great first episode. Scripted and directed perfectly. I got nostalgia chills during Cross and Allen's talk, especially that Mana flashback. Knowing what we know from recent chapters about Mana, the 14th, and Earl, things appear to be hinted at a little more purposefully here, but maybe that's just me. lol why does anyone care about Miranda's character design..honestly couldn't care less what Lenalee or Lavi look or sound like, even though yeah Hanae is just as bad a Lavi as I expected, minus that 'Fire Stamp' shout which sounded shrill like SuzuKen. Allen and Kanda are good, and Link sounds great, so I'm good. Just can't wait to meet the Noah, both for hype and to see how Earl, Road, Tyki, Sheryl, and Wisely sound. Did I miss Reever somewhere? Well he'll certainly be in the next episode. I quite liked the OP and ED, though obviously the previous series OP's are pretty much impossible to match. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we see an OP change around ep 7, I mean Alma didn't appear once in it unless I'm blind. So good to have DGM back. The reign of the sensitive white haired MC's has officially begun, with this and Arslan being the best first eps for me. straggy said: Original HQ wrecked by Noah. New HQ built. Exorcists move into new HQ. You missed nothing in between lol...well other than an in-manga filler/comedy arc that finished off the old HQ and slightly bridges the gap a bit. It would have felt just the same if they started out the episode with them at the old HQ getting news about the move, but that would have screwed the pacing of the episode.Tyrel said: straggy said: Tyrel said: straggy said: Nothing was even rushed... I'm afraid this is gonna be an awful and rushed adaptation. Judging by the ED, they really intend to adapt the "Alma Arc"... into 13 episodes? Anyway, props to the animation and character design. The voice acting... meh, I'll get used to it, I guess. |
